Red Sox make offer to Adrian Beltre

Free-agent third baseman Adrian Beltre has received a contract offer from the Boston Red Sox, according to ESPNBoston.com.

Terms of the deal are not known, and the report says other teams remain interested in Beltre. SI.com speculates the Oakland Athletics may be in contention; ESPNBoston names the A’s, Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Angels as possible suitors.
