MLB All Star GameIt’s a little after the midway point of the ‘08 MLB season and many teams still have a great shot at making the playoffs. Amazingly, the American League won the 2008 All-Star Game once again this year and this time they came from behind in an exciting victory. This All-Star Game was the longest in history running a little short of five hours! And only the 1967 All-Star game was as many innings at fifteen. And Boston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Drew won the game’s MVP because of his two-run, game-tying home run in the seventh inning. In fact, there were a number of Red Sox on this year’s All-Star roster. Buy Red Sox tickets online for a good price, even if the game is sold out. I think that the number of players picked from each team for the All-Star Game is usually directly related to how good the team is in a given year. For example, there were 5 Red Sox picked for the ‘08 All-Star Game and 2 more on reserve. mAnd of course, the Red Sox are the world champs right now and doing pretty good this year so far. The New York Yankees is another team that a number of players chosen. But they aren’t as good this year as they’ve been in the past. But the season is only halfway done, so the Yankees still have plenty of time to make it to the playoffs. The All-Star game was played in Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and is particularly memorable because of this. Yankee Stadium is being torn down forever at the end of this MLB season. This reminds me of just how fluid the city of New York is. Plus, it is an absolute blast to have fun in the Big Apple. Entertainment is everywhere and there are fantastic concerts, games and Broadway musicals and shows to go to, sort of like Las Vegas is with its huge selection of shows. You can actually purchase Las Vegas show tickets online and find pretty good deals. Whatever the case may be, it’s halfway through the ‘08 MLB season and I believe that these are some of the teams that are looking good for making the playoffs: The Boston Red Sox, the Tampa Rays, the Angels, the Chicago White Sox, the New York Mets (but not the Yankees),and the Chicago Cubs. But anything can happen, and we may all be in for a big surprise come October.
