Los Angeles Angels after the Tragedy

AngelsNick Adenhart, the pitcher of Los Angeles Angels was killed in a car crash last April 9, 2009 in Fullerton, California caused by a believed to be drunken driver which took the life of two other people and injured another one.

Three weeks after the incident, the emotions are still high because of the tragedy but they are recovering. Angels won against Baltimore Orioles at Carmen Yards with the Angels winning their first three games this season.

The Los Angeles guys have a patch of Adenhart’s number 34 on their jerseys and they are obviously saddened by the loss of their pitcher, they crack few smiles with fewer jokes and played music. This was because of the realization that baseball is just a small part of their lives.

However even with the death of Adenheart, they made him an inspiration of every game that they played and the father of Nick and some of his family members even watched the victory of the Angels winning 7-5 on Tuesday night.

After the worst first two innings, Shane Loux, Angels’ starter had to look back and see what went wrong and when he came back, he tried a new game plan that worked for the team. He only allowed two more hits with the six-plus innings and he got his ever dreamed major league victory beating Orioles at 3-2. The game did not just give Loux his first ever major league, but it also gave the Angels a three-game winning streak.

The turning point of the win is when they offered a memorial for Nick last Thursday morning and that they closed that chapter and were relaxing that day talking about Nick. They were more adjusted to what happened to Nick Adenhart and it inspires them more to winning their next games for the season.
