Clayton Kershaw showed the excellent class of pitching skills to lead his team, Los Angeles Dodgers, to a comfortable 6-2 victory over San Diego Padres. Los Angeles Dodgers are having a pretty rough time off late both in the field as well as off field and this performance by Kershaw will lift the spirits of the sagging management team as well as the players. The team management is suffering from some of the worst hit crisis off field like bankruptcy claims by team and divorce of its owners. With Kershaw’s excellent pitching skills against the Padres, the team has been given the much needed motivation to leave all the off field controversies surrounding them in the locker rooms and perform at their very best in the playing arena.
Kershaw has had a superlative season thus far and his performance in the MLB stands at 13-4 career wins this season and has joined the likes of Ian Kennedy and Roy Halladay in the league lead in victories. Kershaw acknowledges the fact that it will be a daunting task for his team to get close to the numerous Uno position from the fourth position this season, but he is happy that the team has won a game solely due to his pitching skills. The All Star Kershaw had allowed just two runs and had six hits in the game and did strike out four to extend his striking score to 182. 67 out of the 108 pitches that he threw were strikes and completed his fourth complete game of the season taking his total tally of games completed to five in his MLB career.
Kershaw was happy to be in the swinging mode pretty early in the match and was happy that his control over the ball was pretty good. His teammate Matt Kemp was all praise for his buddy’s throwing abilities as well as his ability to get top hitters out. According to Matt Kemp, Kershaw is one of the best if not the best pitcher in MLB. Even the San Diego manager Bud Black could not hide his true emotions seeing Kershaw in such devastating mode. He said that Kershaw is an All Star material and that his confidence is growing leaps and bounds after each and every game. As the next two matches between these teams are just around the corner, San Diego Padres will be looking for a complete turn around in the next game.
