The Second Path to GloryAutumn is in at New York but the crowds at The World Series feel the heat. They do not have to endure it for long. In what could be a whole new twist to the order of things, San Francisco Giants will wage an anticipated sequel of their game against Texas Rangers. There is yet an early respite from some of the slash and burn for the batting line-ups. The usual stealth bombers- Cliff Lee and Tim Lincecum are absent. The bookies are already disappointed. Risky Business? While grouping up the Rangers for Game 1, manager Ron Washington had roped in Cliff Lee to deliver the fireworks. The ploy had worked but now in the second game, Washington seems to have made a risky decision by taking LHP CJ Wilson along with Colby Lewis as pitchers. Wilson had a rough patch against the Yankees, even at the ALCS Game 5. However, Washington still deems Wilson to be a real performer and the best pitcher lately before young Lee stole the show. This game could be a come-back for Wilson to reclaim the honors. This is the first time he is facing The Giants. Belief in the Best The Giants’ manager Bruce Bochy faced a similar crisis. His Cy Young Winner Cain was always the preferred pitcher. At ALDS against Atlanta, he slotted him and displaced LHP Cole Hamels but later brought them together against the Philadelphia Phillies. Cain’s presence is justifiably a safe bet for Bochy. He has so far restrained the batters from scoring adequate runs, scoring an admirable 13/23 spotless innings. Cain’s new-found form outweighs Hamels skill. Batters till date have a tough time against him. Cain has also earned a victory at The NLCS scoring two hits in Game 3. This is his second face-off against The Rangers after winning a run in eight innings. And this time around, they are looking like poised to give a good challenge to The Ranger, even some critics are hoping really a great performance from them. But according to another school of thought, they game will be even-Steven. The Odds of Victory So far, The Giants have walked off with many victories, flying with passing colors in all the games played at Candlestick Park. But the return of Wilson can fetch The Rangers with a worthy game. Still, The Giants stand tall over The Rangers.
