The Dickey notes winJose Reyes was the hero of the day and helped the Dickeys to their win as well the New York Mets. In order to achieve this he had to ignore the serious injury on the right hand. In this exploit he had three hits and won the start. The Mets have a winning streak that stands at seven games in the MLB baseball games. They defeated the Cleveland Indians with a score that ended on six points to four in reply on the Thursday night stakes. In the game Reyes scored twice and there was good news for the rookie that is Ike Davis. They have now won eighteen out of twenty three fixtures. It is also notable that they have six straight wins for the first time since 2008. Their eight in a row is an interleague record that is not to be sniffed at. In fact the Mets are eight points to one against the teams entering a three game Subway Series. The resilience of the players that were suffering from injury is to be commended because it is not easy to carry on playing good baseball when you are hurting. They put on a good show and MLB baseball is all the richer for their efforts. If we are looking at their achievements in context, it is quite clear that they are breaking records and creating new ground on the games that they love. It is understandable that there will be an element of competition between the different teams and the records just help to cement the reputations of the favorites and dominant forces. The quality of play was excellent with some exhilarating runs that brought the crowd out in some support or despair as the case may be. It might have played on the minds of the opponents that they were playing some injured people. However this was all forgotten as the Dickeys did their thing and brought the bacon home. The next step is to aim higher and hopefully deliver some excellent results for the team and the sport in general.
